Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali International Airport and transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
On your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be picked up by our driver guide who will introduce and brief you about your three day Rwanda gorilla trekking Safari. You will indulge in a brief Kigali City Tour to explore one of the genocide Sites (Gisozi Memorial Site that is just 10 minutes drive from the City Center), visit to Kimironko Market where you can purchase some fresh organic fruits, art and crafts and African wear among others. You will then have lunch within Kigali City before proceeding to Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri.
Overnight will be at Da Vinci Safari Lodge/Sabinyo Silverback Lodge for Luxury accommodation, Mountain View Lodge/Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge in midrange accommodation and Kinigi Guesthouse/Amahoro Guesthouse for budget accommodation.
Meal plan is lunch and Dinner, and the Travel time to Volcanoes National Park is between two and three hours.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park & visit to the Iby’iwacu cultural Village
After an early breakfast at the Safari Lodge, you will be required to prepare yourself and arrive at Kinigi Park Headquarters by 7:00am for the life changing adventure. You will be briefed on the tracking guidelines and how to conduct yourself while with the mountain gorillas. Tracking time ranges from 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family and your pace of tracking and once they are sighted, you will be required to spend only one hour with the mountain gorillas to take photographs, learn more and get amazed by them.
You will then head back to the Safari Lodge for lunch and to relax as you prepare for your next activity. You will visit the Iby’iwacu cultural Village in the afternoon to enjoy invigorating cultural dance and music performances, visit the traditional healer, participate in some of the traditional day to day activities of a typical Rwandan homestead that include grinding of millet using traditional grinding stones, cultivation of crops with local tools, preparation and tasting of traditional dishes such as the Igikoma and Ubugari with the help of the women and explore the local beer brewing process among other exciting activities. You will then return to the Safari Lodge for overnight and dinner

Day 3: Golden monkey tracking and departure.
After the early morning breakfast, you will head for golden monkey to encounter the exceptional and playful primate species that call Volcanoes National Park home. Just like gorilla trekking, this activity starts with arrival at the Park Headquarters followed by the pre-tracking briefing on the dos and don’ts of the adventure. You will venture into the jungles and find these jumpy primates, and after one hour with them, that will be the end of your time in the Park. You will then drive back to Kigali City where you will buy some souvenirs to remember the Land of a thousand Hills then continue to the Airport for your flight.
